Uzbekistan students participate in a special lecture on the financial market with Mrs. Aisa Hanif at Muhammadiyah University Sidoarjo.

As part of the international exchange study program, students from Asia International University, Uzbekistan who are currently undertaking an academic visit at Muhammadiyah University Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) participated in a special lecture entitled ‘Introduction to Financial Markets in Indonesia’ on May 21, 2025. This event took place in the classroom of the Accounting Study Program and was directly led by the lecturer of the Accounting Program, Mrs. Aisa Hanif, S.A., Ak., M.Acc.

The special lecture aims to introduce the system and mechanisms of financial markets in Indonesia to international students, as well as to open discussions regarding developments in the global financial sector. The topics covered include the structure of the capital market, the role of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), traded financial instruments, and trends in digitalization in market transactions.

 

In this session, Mrs. Aisa presented the material interactively and applicatively, using a case study approach and the latest market data. The students from Uzbekistan participated in the lecture enthusiastically, showing interest in the dynamics of the financial market in Indonesia and how it differs from or is similar to the system in their country.

The discussion was active, especially when discussing topics related to investment, fintech, and financial market regulations. The students from Uzbekistan also shared their experiences and the financial system in their country, creating a dynamic and educational two-way learning atmosphere.

This activity is part of the efforts of the Accounting Study Program at UMSIDA to provide a globally oriented learning experience while also expanding international networks through the exchange of knowledge and culture.

The Head of the Accounting Study Program, Sarwenda Biduri, SE., MSA., stated that activities like this are a strategic moment to develop an international curriculum and create an inclusive learning environment. “Collaborations like this enrich the students’ insights and encourage lecturers to continue developing globally relevant teaching methods,” she expressed.

Through this special lecture activity, students from Asia International University, Uzbekistan are expected to gain a better understanding of the Indonesian financial system as well as memorable academic experiences during their exchange program at UMSIDA. This activity also reaffirms UMSIDA’s commitment to supporting the internationalization of high-quality higher education.
